Gotham Knights is seemingly making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, as per recent rumors. YouTuber Doctre81 spotted the LinkedIn profile of a developer from the porting studio QLOC. The details suggested that the latter worked to bring the 2020 open-world game to an "unreleased platform", which is assumed to be none other than the Nintendo Switch 2.
This theory holds water when considering that the game was supposed to be arriving on the original Nintendo Switch but did not. Here are the full details.

Gotham Knights could be released as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title
As per the findings, the QLOC employee seemed to have worked on the CPU and gameplay optimizations of the Unreal Engine 4-derived project for an unreleased platform and it also seems to deploy the Vulkan API for rendering. This is interesting, as the only unreleased platform on the radar to receive a game of this scale would be the yet-to-be-showcased Nintendo Switch 2.
We reported last year that an ESRB rating for Gotham Knights on Nintendo Switch was spotted in the wild. Since then, however, we've received a port of the Batman Arkham Collection, but with no sign of WB Montreal's controversial open-world game featuring the titular Gotham Knights.
If we had to speculate, this could be due to the poor technical performance of Batman Arkham Knight (the most visually advanced entry in the trilogy) on the Nintendo Switch. The open-world game suffered from a low frame rate and muddy visuals, making for a subpar gaming experience on the handheld system.

As such, it would make sense that publisher Warner Bros would skip the Nintendo Switch version of a game more demanding than Arkham Knight and instead put it on the upcoming next-gen successor. Gotham Knights also skipped the last-gen PS4 and Xbox One systems for technical reasons, and since Nintendo Switch 2 is reported to be more powerful than those, this port could grant it a second wind.
After all, Gotham Knights received immense backlash upon launch for poor performance on all target platforms, namely PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, despite being a mediocre game. Coming back to the topic, it remains to be seen whether this rumor of the game being ported for the Switch 2 is true or not.
