Honkai Star Rail Xilan leaks hint at an upcoming 'Expy'

Amidst the array of Honkai Star Rail leaks surfacing online, one particular post from leaker Shiroha reveals that an upcoming character, Xilan, will be an “Expy” of someone. Xilan is expected to be introduced to Trailblazers during the Amphoreus arc. While most units in HoYoverse's turn-based gacha title are unique in their own way, having an Expy of somebody as an interactable character is a first.

Upcoming Honkai Star Rail character Xilan is expected to be an Expy of someone

As per the leak from a trustworthy source, Shiroha Leaks, Xilan (not the official EN translation of the CN name), which means “Ripples of the Past,” will likely be an Expy. This means they could resemble someone from the real/fictional world and portray a unique personality. However, it is still unknown who they are an Expy of.

Additionally, the leaked information claims that Xilan will likely play a major role in the title’s upcoming destination/planet, Amphoreus. Depending on how important they are in the story, they could be introduced to players in the Honkai Star Rail version 3.0, which is set to release The Herta, Aglaea, and a new playable Path, Remembrance.

Out of all the playable characters that have been leaked recently, the name Xilan is nowhere to be found. Since most leaks show the expected characters till version 3.2, this could likely be revealed as a playable character scheduled for v3.3 or later.

While there is not official confirmation, the characters following the aforementioned path will likely use summons to fight. Some parts of the Remembrance Trailblazer’s kit have been leaked recently, hinting that they utilize summons to fight opponents. The summons are also believed to have their own HP pool, unlike those of Lingsha and Jing Yuan.
