A recent leak from a prominent source suggests R-301 will likely receive a Prestige skin in Apex Legends Season 24

As mentioned, @HYPERMYSTx suggested that the R-301 will supposedly receive a Mythic skin in Apex Legends Season 24. While characters receive a Prestige skin every season as a part of a Collection Event, this is the first time Respawn is releasing a weapon skin of this rarity. Most Mythic items in the game are exceptionally rare and players have to pay a hefty sum to add these cosmetics to their collection.

As per the leak, the Mythic weapon skin is set to feature similar characteristics as the Prestige Legend skins. Instead of evolving and changing the look of the cosmetic, players will likely receive recolors once they upgrade the skin. Moreover, the skin might also be Reactive and will likely function just as the Battle Pass ones do.

Additionally, another post from @HYPERMYSTx suggests that players might have to purchase additional VFX items to customize the weapon skin. Currently, the universal Apex Artifacts and Melee weapons have a similar feature that allows players to purchase additional customization features with Exotic Shards.
