Rumored Genshin Impact character, Dahlia might be playable soon as per official teaser

Dahlia is a character in Genshin Impact who has been rumored to be playable for a long time. His concept art and design were leaked in June 2023 (along with a lot of other Fontaine characters), and his playability status has been in question ever since. While some fans hoped that he would be playable sometime in the future, others were of the opinion that he had been shelved and wouldn't see the light of day.

Fortunately, the recent Genshin Impact 5.3 livestream shed some light on this much-discussed character. According to the broadcast, Dahlia is supposedly one of the upcoming playable characters in Genshin Impact, set to be released within the next six months.

Genshin Impact teases playable Dahlia

During the Genshin Impact 5.3 livestream, developers revealed some of the future characters who will be playable soon. While only the silhouettes of these characters were revealed, it took very little time for the community to figure out most of their identities. From what is known of Dahlia's model and design, it is almost certain that the second character from the left is him. In other words, he will be one of the upcoming playable characters to be introduced within the next six months.

The character's first-ever official mention in Genshin Impact was in Rosaria's drip marketing post all the way back in 2021, where Barbara namedropped a "Deacon Dahlia". Rosaria's alternate outfit — released in 2022 — also mentioned the same. He was namedropped a third time (again by Rosaria) during the Genshin Impact 3.1 Weinlesefest festival event. For quite some time, the fact that Dahlia was a Deacon in Mondstadt was the only information known about him.

In June 2023, a lot of leaks mentioning Dahlia surfaced. He was known as the "Heterochromia Boy" and was hinted at being a 4-star character. His complete concept art and design were also leaked, which showed him as a short male with pink hair and mismatched lavender-and-grey eyes. While his Element and weapon were also hinted at in the leaks, it remains to be seen if that still holds true today, or if he will be released with a completely new kit when he becomes playable.
