Polygon has uploaded some information regarding the upcoming Gears of War remake for Xbox One currently in development. The site updated its original article on the Gears of War remake to include these new details. However, they have not mentioned their sources so it is best to treat this information as a rumour until Microsoft or Black Tusk Studios confirm the reports.
The article first mentioned Black Tusk Studios as the games developer, however, the update now states that this isn’t the case and development for the game has now been handed to Splash Damage. The UK developers are responsible for creating games like Dirty Bomb and Brink.
And according to their recent job vacancy listings, it seems that Splash Damage is in fact working on a big project. Their listing states that they are working on a “very well known and highly popular AAA title with next-gen technology.” So this AAA title could just be the Gears of War remake.
The second update on the article states that the remake for Xbox One will run at 60fps during multiplayer. So shooter fans are going to be delighted if this news turns out to be true. Hopefully, we will hear more from Microsoft at this year’s E3, as they are yet to confirm/deny these rumours.
