Saving the Mole in Escape from Tarkov: How to complete, and rewards

Saving the Mole in Escape from Tarkov is one of the beginner tasks. Upon logging in for the first time after purchasing the game or after a wipe, all players must complete this task. This lets them progress and unlock more quests from other Traders. Although it is a beginner task, players may face complications since the game doesn't provide directions to the quest location.

A guide for Saving the Mole in Escape from Tarkov

Most of the beginner tasks take place in Ground Zero, and Saving the Mole in Escape from Tarkob is no exception. Completing it is quite simple but requires a little bit of luck since it depends on the players’ spawn location, which is random.

You must complete multiple objectives to complete the task. They are as follows:

• Find the USEC PMC group in the TerraGroup complex’s parking lot/garage.
• Find the scientist on Ground Zero.
• Enter the scientist’s office.
• Find and acquire the scientist’s hard drive from his office.
• Hand the hard drive over to Mechanic.

To start Saving the Mole in Escape from Tarkov, make sure you accept it from Mechanic and load into Ground Zero. After spawning, navigate your way through the map toward the TerraGroup complex. When you reach there, go to the building’s parking lot where you will see the USEC PMC group on the ground near the building’s entrance.

After you're done with the task objective, go inside the building to its main reception room. Look around till you find a Cat Statue and walk forward into the hallway beside the statue. At the end of the hallway, you will see the dead scientist. Loot his body to get the key to his office.

The scientist’s office is located on the second floor of the building. To get there, simply climb the stairs beside the statue and take a hard right. The office door will be marked with the number four. When you are inside, go to the middle part of the room where you will see the hard drive. Pick it up and safely extract from the raid.

From the Tasks menu, you will have to submit the hard drive to Mechanic to finish the task. Keep in mind that if you die with the hard drive in your inventory, it will be lost and you have to start over.
