From Software has confirmed that Sekiro is the most open and non-linear adventure till date and will also feature multiple side locations that can be accessed through dreams such as the Hirakata States area as seen in the exclusive gameplay footage uploaded by Game Informer.
#5. The Game can be paused.
One of the biggest problem in Dark Souls and Bloodborne was that the game couldn't be paused. It meant that there was always a risk of getting killed when the player left the system for a while and lose all their progress. It was a complete nightmare and many people probably suffered from this issue.
That doesn't happen here. Since Sekiro is a complete single player experience, the players can pause the game whenever they like.
If you didn't know, Sekiro will also feature a storyline which will be a little less crpytic when compared to other recent From Software Games.
This is what the story synopsis tells about the game-
In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice you are the “one-armed wolf”, a disgraced and disfigured warrior rescued from the brink of death. Bound to protect a young lord who is the descendant of an ancient bloodline, you become the target of many vicious enemies, including the dangerous Ashina clan. When the young lord is captured, nothing will stop you on a perilous quest to regain your honor, not even death itself.
