Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance allows players to visit Demon Haunts to improve their allies’ powers. Located within the confines of the Leyline Founts, this new feature lets the Nahobino chat with the demons currently in his employ, and, depending on the circumstances, lets them grow more powerful or simply give you incredibly useful items. You could completely ignore this feature if you want, but we don’t recommend it.

You’ll start seeing requests from your demons early on, saying they want to chat with you at the Demon Haunt in Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance. This can be done throughout the game and only has positive benefits for your gameplay.

Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance is a game where you will have to grind quite a lot, and after battles, you’ll occasionally be asked to visit the Demon Haunt. It’s currently unknown what triggers it, but it feels like it happens after simply having a demon in your party for a long time. It builds a bond with that demon, and they’ll want to go chat with you.

Head to any of the Fast Travel locations on the map, and select “Demon Haunt.” This takes you to a little pocket dimension set in the same zone you’re in. All the demons you’re grouped with join you here for a bit of conversation. If they have a regular chat bubble, there’s no growth to be had. If they have an exclamation mark, however, they will give you an item, money, or increase their stats.

You can always tell when exploring the game if an ally wishes to chat with you in the Demon Haunt in Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance. You’ll see an exclamation mark next to their name in battle or the UI.

This is especially important for Aogami: after most boss battles, he’ll ask to go speak with you. It’s a free +3 to your stat points, issued how you choose, so there’s no downside to skipping it. In addition, your human allies/guest characters can also appear there.

If you want to trigger this event, simply run around in the world and get into battles. That’s how they triggered for us the most—simply leveling up in the wild. Every so often, one of your allies will ask to chat with you, which means you can head to the Demon Haunt at your leisure. You may wish to wait until a few people want to talk at once, and that’s fine. You get free rewards simply for playing the game, so it’s one of the best new features added.

Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance is available on June 14, 2024, and brings so many changes to the base game. In addition to a brand-new story, there are lots of useful quality-of-life changes and updates to make the game feel fresh and new again.
