Shopper buys PS4 from Walmart, gets rocks instead

What’s worse than getting coal on Christmas? Paying and getting rocks instead of a new console apparently. A Man from Denver had bought a new PlayStation 4 console from Walmart only to discover that the case was filled with rocks instead of a new console.

Igor Baksht had bought the console for his 13-year-old niece and opened the Grand Theft Auto V bundle to make sure everything was intact before gift wrapping it. But he discovered that instead of a console, the case was filled with rocks.

Baksht told ABC 7News that he opened the case "Just to make sure everything was inside, that all the contents were inside, all the games were inside,". But what Baksht discovered surprised him, and not in a good way.

A Walmart employee told the unfortunate buyer that the console had been previously returned so it wasn’t a new product. Walmart also refused to take the console back because they had no proof. The store should have checked the contents of the PS4 case before reselling it. So the buyer cannot really be blamed for the scam.

The console was eventually returned and refunded

But apparently incidents like this has already happened in the past. An ABC 7News report revealed the previous cases where buyers had opened their Christmas presents of iPhones and iPads only to discover that they were filled with stacks of paper.

But luckily for Baksht, the store manager of Walmart agreed to a refund on Christmas Eve. So always remember to check the contents before going ahead with the purchase, or you might just end up with rocks.
