Silent Hill 2: Brookhaven Hospital padlock code revealed

Konami and Bloober Team's latest title Silent Hill 2 offers tons of interesting puzzles to solve. While some puzzles require solving just to progress through the story, others unlock interesting and hilarious easter eggs or alternate endings, like the Dog ending. Moreover, most puzzles have multiple steps to them and require you to pay attention to your surroundings.

What sets this remake apart is that the difficulty has been significantly ramped up when compared to the original 2001 title. You will specifically notice this once you enter the Brookhaven Hospital. Making your way past the dark hospital corridors, you will come across a padlock in the reception area. You need to solve a puzzle and get the padlock code to progress through the campaign. Your first hint to find the padlock code will be present in the nurse's memo as well as the photographs in the lobby. Enter exam room two on the ground floor by smashing through the window. Then, use the connecting door to enter exam room three, where you will be able to find the nurse's memo. The memo will have a clue that reads, "Once you're in the lobby, just look around. Now remember. Nurses. Doctors. Trees."

Now, head back to the hospital's entrance and spot all of the photographs hanging on the hospital lobby's wall. The code to the reception's padlock is quite simple actually. You just need to figure out the number of elements mentioned in the nurse's memo: number of nurses + number of doctors + number of trees.

If you look through the photographs carefully, you will be able to spot seven nurses, two doctors, and four trees. This will be your padlock code, i.e. 724. Enter the code on the padlock at the reception to receive a key to the basement. Now, go down to the basement and use this key to unlock the basement door to progress further in Silent Hill 2.
