Skyesports Championship 2024 format

During the Group Stage, the 12 teams (now 11) will go up against all members of their group. All the games during this stage will be a best-of-one. At the end of this stage, the top six teams will advance to the Playoffs.

For the playoff stage, these six teams will be put in a single-elimination bracket. All the matches during this stage will be best-of-three, with teams going through two quarterfinals and two semifinals. Finally, the Grand Final will also be a best-of-three matchup.

The Group Stage will be played from the athletes' hotel rooms, where the organizer has provided all equipment. The playoffs will be played out on a separate stage. Here's what Naveen Prakash, the head of production at Skyesports, had to say about the Counter-Strike 2 tournament:

"For the Group Stage, we wanted to ensure that teams have ample time to practice and compete with minimal commute. To achieve this, we have established 12 exclusive bootcamp-esque setups at the Taj Lands End, each dedicated to one of our competing teams. These state-of-the-art setups are equipped with over 140 high-end PCs, ensuring that every team has the resources they need to excel. Our Playoffs will happen on a grand stage, and we can't wait to unveil it to the world."

The tournament will certainly be one of the most prestigious Indian CS2 events in the world. Its significance is perhaps catapulted by the fact that it will begin right after the Esports World Cup CS2 event which NaVi won.
