Sons of the Forest is the highly anticipated sequel to Endnight Games' 2014 survival horror crafting thriller The Forest, including lots of traditional combat against woodlands full of humanoid mutants and gooey monstrosities. The previous game's extensive crafting mechanisms and the option to interact with pals to create a base of operations return in the sequel.
What is the setting of Sons of the Forest?
The Sons of the Forest map will be around four times the size of The Forest's playable area. The location is primarily based on the Site 2 map, which you may have seen after the original game, but it has since been enlarged as Endnight makes it a reality. This survival game is in a Pacific Northwest-style landscape, but Sons of the Forest will have busy seasons to help bring more diversity.

Sons of the Forest's only known release platform is PC, and the developers at Endnight are currently entirely focused on PC development. Sons of the Forest may get PS4, PS5, and Xbox versions. The Forest did release on PC and PlayStation 4 in 2018, so there is optimism that this small company will bring the sequel to the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
