Spectre Divide has seen a gradual decline in its playerbase since its launch on September 3, 2024, and has plummeted below 10k in the same month. The game peaked at its all-time high on the day of release, but since then, lack of content and a lot of performance issues have potentially resulted in this downfall.
The developers are constantly trying to work on fixes to improve the state of the game, but it is clearly not enough. The game needs a more simplistic approach to its mechanics, server fixes, and maybe a few cosmetic incentives to attract more players.

Spectre Divide is a new tactical FPS game developed and published by Mountaintop Studios. The game officially launched as a free-to-play title on September 3, 2024, on Steam.
According to SteamDB, an all-time peak of 30,971 players was achieved on the release day, but since then there has been a gradual decline in the playerbase. Since September 17, 2024, Spectre Divide has recorded less than 10k players daily, showing the lack of interest and the poor state of the game. The same Steam database shows that the game reached its lowest number of players at 8,647 on September 20, 2024.
The FPS title has been out for a month now and its gradually decreasing playerbase is slightly alarming. The game was released with the unique concept of Duality that was never before seen in the competitive FPS genre, but the performance issues and lack of content seem to be the main issues for its downfall.

It is high time for the developers to look into this matter and solve the existing issues with their game. If not, the game will quickly lose relevance and fail to live up to its expectations. Listening to community feedback and making the necessary changes can help them revive the game before it gets too late.
What are the important changes required to increase Spectre Divide’s playerbase?
The main issue with the game seems to be its lack of fresh content. The game initially launched without important aspects like Careers and Battle Pass and will take at least another four months to release, as stated by the Game Director. Recently, Spectre Divide Ranked Mode was introduced, but that was clearly not enough incentive for new players to join.
Finally, the core issues regarding performance and servers need to be constantly improved upon to deliver the best experience in-game. Once these issues are fixed, the game should see a steady rise in its playerbase and reach new heights.
