Spectre Divide launched on September 3, 2024, and was generally well received by the community. Although the game was a welcome change to the FPS genre with unique gameplay mechanics, it lacked some basic incentives, like a Battle Pass and Careers, which hindered the overall experience. The community has since been asking the developers to implement these into the game.
Spectre Divide is a 3v3 tactical first-person shooter from Mountaintop Studios. The game relies on the core concept of Duality, which lets you switch between two characters at your will. It is a new concept in the FPS world and has attracted a lot of players to date.

A Reddit user, OutstandingSoloist, recently posted a screenshot of the game director’s response to inquiries about Careers and Battle Pass. The screenshot was from a conversation from Spectre Divide's official discord server where mt | BopNSwap, the game’s director, can be seen commenting that Careers are not coming to the game anytime soon. They are at least four months away from being ready.
He further stated that development was going according to plan and that nothing was getting neglected. Hence, we should expect Careers to be implemented in a little more than four months.
In the same post, the Game Director can be seen commenting on the possibility of a Battle Pass. He insisted that such a pass was still a few months away from release, and even though the locked states of these features in the game might have indicated a launch sometime soon, that is definitely not the case.

Nate Mitchell, Mountaintop Studios’ co-founder and CEO, also commented on the Reddit post, clarifying their current status, and reassuring the community that efforts were being made to improve all aspects of the game, including Careers and a Battle Pass.
He also mentioned that since they were independent developers, they often had to prioritize matchmaking, optimization, and other core loop problems over others. This results in a smaller team working on addon features like Careers and a Battle Pass.
He further went on to state that their design teams have come up with some interesting stuff, although it is not ready to be implemented in the game yet. However, they appreciated the community feedback and were working on delivering as quickly as possible.
Nate Mitchell also had a few things to say about the next patch update. He said that it would be focussing on reducing framerate dips and improving overall client performance.

Spectre Divide, with its unique mechanics, is quickly cementing its position in the FPS genre. Moreover, quick and open community interactions like these will result in increased faith in the developers and ultimately build trust.
