With the recent announcement of Assassin's Creed Shadows, another Rainbow Six Siege crossover in terms of an Elite skin isn't an impossible scenario. Siege and Assassin's Creed are two Ubisoft franchises acclaimed by gamers worldwide, the former for its tactical depth, and the latter for its historical backdrop and an immersive story.

Speculation has swirled around a potential crossover Elite skin for the Assassin Ninja Naoe and the formidable attacker, Hibana, also from Japan. Let's dive into the possibilities and explore if Assassin's Creed Shadows' protagonist can find her way to Rainbow Six Siege's tactical world.

Note: This article is a speculative piece, and purely reflects the author's opinions.

Relating Hibana from Rainbow Six Siege and Naoe from Assassin's Creed Shadows

Despite belonging to different universes, Naoe from Assassin's Creed Shadows and Hibana from Siege share a number of similarities.

Background and work

Both Hibana and Naoe come from Japan, just from different timelines. They already share a similar culture, both being elite operatives of a covert group. A trained martial artist and an expert in ranged weapons, Hibana possesses the key characteristics of an Assassin. While their approach and weapon of choice are vastly different, it can be attributed to the age they belong to.

Assassins are known to work in teams, and Hibana working in a team of four more members is similar to an Assassin brotherhood. Naoe already teams up with Yasuke in Assassin's Creed Shadows, making their overall background identical. A modern-day Naoe would fit in just fine in Siege's chaotic universe.

Visual design

Hibana's default attire includes a blue hooded jacket. Coincidentally (or not), Naoe's attire as seen on the official cover art of Assassin's Creed Shadows also sports a similar shade of blue. The hood itself is an integral part of the Assassin attire, so that is a given by default.

The existing Hibana Elite skin in Rainbow Six Siege, Onkochishin, gives her the look of a traditional Japanese archer. While we have yet to see bows and arrows being used as weapons in Assassin's Creed Shadows, their existence in the game cannot be dismissed entirely.

Crossovers in Rainbow Six Siege

Rainbow Six Siege has seen a considerable amount of crossover Elite skins, based on both TV shows and other games. The most recent would be the Halo Master Chief Elite set for Sledge. Currently, Siege has a total of 26 crossover bundles, with eight of these being Elite Skin sets.

Among these, 18 are for Attacker Operators, while the remaining eight are for the Defenders. Moreover, since both come from Ubisoft, a crossover between Rainbow Six Siege and Assassin's Creed Shadows wouldn't have to deal with copyright issues either.

Assassin's Creed crossover in the form of an Elite skin won't be a new thing, since the Master Assassin Elite skin for Flores already puts him in the attire of Altair Ibn'la Ahad.

Thus, a Naoe-inspired elite skin for Hibana holds exciting potential, as the background synergy and visual possibilities are strong enough to allow for a seamless transition. Moreover, Ubisoft's expertise in both franchises could create a truly unique and lore-friendly cosmetic that would resonate with fans of both games.

The final decision rests with Ubisoft, but the idea certainly sparks the imagination. With the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows on the horizon, keep your eyes peeled for any official announcements regarding a potential Hibana and Naoe collaboration in Rainbow Six Siege.
