Fixing stuttering and crashing issues for Stalker 2 on Xbox Series X/S
Although Stalker 2 comes with an exciting storyline and one of the best maps in a Stalker game till now, people are experiencing stutters and even crashes while playing the title. However, there can be numerous reasons as to why a game is performing terribly. Let's take a look at some of the reasons and how to fix them.
Restart the game and your console
If you have been gaming on your Xbox for extended hours, it might increase the console's temperature. To fix this, simply turn off your console for a while and then check if any stutters or lags persist.
Check the cables and internet connection
Sometimes the culprit behind poor performance while gaming can just be some loose connections or destroyed wires. Make sure that your HDMI cable is not damaged and has been properly inserted to avoid any input delays. While you are at it, also ensure that the ethernet cable or your Wi-Fi connection is stable.
Check for game and console updates
You might face problems like crashing if you are not using the latest version of firmware available for Xbox. To update your console manually, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings, select System, and then Updates. If there are any updates available, download and install them.
While Automatic updates are turned on for most people, you can manually check them as well to ensure that you are indeed playing the updated version of the game. To do so, follow these steps:
- Go to My Apps and Games, navigate the options, and find Dragon Age The Veilguard.
- Once on the game tile, press the Menu button, select "Manage game and add-ons" and then "Check for Updates."
Delete any corrupted data and ensure you have enough space
If there are any damaged files or corrupted game data, chances are that the title will work just fine if you delete those files. Additionally, having a little extra space available on the console will be optimal if you want to experience the best performance possible.
To reset the console and delete unwanted files, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings on your Xbox.
- Select System followed by Console Info.
- Select "Reset Console" from here.
- Select "Reset and keep my games and apps."
- After this, try relaunching Stalker 2.
Overheating and poor ventilation problems
If your console is overheating or is kept in a poorly ventilated area, it can lead to higher CPU and GPU temperatures while gaming, which can cause lags and even crashes. Make sure to relocate your console to a properly ventilated area if it is not already. You should also get rid of any dust particles that might have accumulated and led to overheating.
If you are still facing any issues while playing Stalker 2, unfortunately, there is nothing more to do but wait for an official patch.
