Stalker 2 walkthrough: How to complete An Act of Mercy mission

An Act of Mercy is one of the main missions in Stalker 2. It is unlocked after completing Dark Times, where you meet Kaymanov, also known as The Doctor. Kaymanov is one of the most important characters in the game and the choices you make regarding the Doctor’s future in the Red Forest will also determine one of the game's endings.

An Act of Mercy is one of the most unique missions in the game. From the very beginning, it is clear that the world of Stalker 2 is unforgiving—either you kill or get killed. However, during this mission, the Doctor explicitly instructs you to retrieve a Monolith device without killing any members of the Monolith faction you might encounter.

How to complete the An Act of Mercy mission in Stalker 2

Before starting the mission, stock up on energy drinks—you will need to run a lot. Once the mission begins, follow the yellow marker on your compass to locate the cable tunnel. To enter the tunnel, find a white building, go inside, head downstairs, and enter through the door.

Upon entering, you’ll encounter your first enemy, a member of the Monolith faction. Run past him as quickly as possible. Fortunately, the AI for human enemies isn’t very sharp. So, if you sprint past him and reach the next room quickly, his only reaction will be something like, “What was that?”

After crossing the room, you’ll find the entrance to a tunnel with cables and a metal bridge. Two enemies are stationed here—one at the entrance and another at the far end of the tunnel. Run towards the left side of the tunnel to shake off the first enemy. Then, once you spot the second one, crouch and enter the vent on the right-hand side.

You’ll find the infirmary on the other side of the vent. Crouch or run past the guards and follow the cables to locate the Monolithian device. You will find a military doctor praying in the next room, wishing peace for his fallen comrades' souls. Take the device, drink an energy drink, run past him, and retrace your steps to exit the tunnel. Finally, return the device to the Doctor in the Red Forest and speak with him to complete the mission.
