Stalker 2 walkthrough: How to complete the On the Edge side mission

Stalker 2's campaign takes place in an area termed the Zone, which is inspired by the real-life Chornobyl Exclusion Zone where a nuclear disaster in 1986 rendered the area uninhabitable. There are many areas that the main character, Skif needs to traverse around. One popular location is Zalissya, where the mission On The Edge takes place. The quest is provided to you by a character named Gaffer.

Below is a guide on completing this quest and its optional objectives. Do note that you may encounter the infamous Zalissya door bug in this mission, something that should likely be patched out in the near future by the developers. In any case, consider using the fixes mentioned in the article below should you come across it.

Completing the On the Edge side mission in Stalker 2

Once you receive the radio transmission from Gaffer asking for assistance, head over to Zalissya and inside the building marked by the mission objective. Immediately on your left will be Gaffer, who will converse with you. When prompted, offer your help and select the prompt "What are you suggesting?" to start the mission.

Now, immediately head over to the location marked on your PDA or engage in some optional side activities. Below are all the optional quests you can complete. To start these, head into a back room and speak with Warlock. Upon speaking with him, you can unlock the additional objectives.

1. Help Warlock retrieve his lost weapon termed "Partner" from a nearby garage. Once acquired, return it to Warlock for a reward or keep it for yourself.
2. Head to the bunker across the street from the building to head down a bunker, where Hamster and a soldier defending him aggressively ask you to depart. Fight them both, leave the area, or buy the soldier's loyalty for 6,000 coupons. In any case, the path chosen will complete this objective.
3. Head to a nearby ridge to take down additional Monolithian scouts.
4. Speak with Mykolaich in a room in the main hall, who will ask you to acquire a medkit. It can be in any of three nearby locations, and must be picked up and brought back to complete the objective, which is termed as "Ask Stalkers of Zalissya if they need any help."

Once you're done choosing the optional objectives you wish to complete (if any), head to the marked location, which is the house of the former guide Uncle Lyonlya. Head to the marker, but be careful while entering as the house has a trip wire on the entry door. Disarm it and head inside.

Once inside, feel free to loot all the items your eyes land upon. Head into the connected room to find a lootable corpse and a radio atop a box. Interact with the radio to listen to a message from Lyonlya revealing his secret identity as a double agent for the Monoliths. Be prepared, as a gunfight will now begin where you have to take down Lyonlya.

Once you've taken him down, head back to the main hall in Zalissya and speak with Gaffer to end the mission. You will receive a SEVA suit from Gaffer for taking down Lyonlya. However, the mission will re-appear after some time, with a message broadcasted by Gaffer asking for assistance against the Monoliths.

You are more likely to encounter the aforementioned bug in this stage of the mission, so try and head to Zalissya immediately. Assist the soldiers in taking down the Monolith onslaught, and the mission will conclude.
