Stalker 2 walkthrough: How to complete The Mysterious Case side mission

The Mysterious Case in Stalker 2 is a side mission that can be accessed in the Zaton region. The main objective is to locate and retrieve a briefcase from a cargo ship. However, this may not be easy to achieve as you also have to deal with a few stalkers on the vessel. Finishing the task will grant you a hefty amount of Coupons.

The Mysterious Case side mission in Stalker 2: Location

You must visit the Sultansk base camp at Skadovsk to access the Mysterious Case side mission in Stalker 2. The base camp is located in the middle of the Zaton region.

Once there, ask Sonya Kalyna (trader) if there's any work for you. She will tell you to speak with Sultan, the boss of the Sultansk base camp.

Interact with Sultan there and select the prompt "Kalyna says you've got a job for me." Afterward, he will tell you to retrieve his briefcase from a cargo ship. This marks the beginning of The Mysterious Case side mission.

Follow the blue objective marker to the cargo ship near the water, which is approximately 1 kilometer away from the Sultansk base camp. After carefully maneuvering around the anomalies, head inside the red container to get to the cargo ship.

Use the ladder to reach the ship deck and open the door to get inside the cabin. Once down, check the room on your left to obtain Sultan's briefcase. You can also find the Hilka Detector, a prominent artifact detector in Stalker 2.

From there, head to the other side of the cabin to find a door that leads outside. As you get outside by pressing the red button, you will be encountered by a stalker group. Their leader, Ensign, will tell you to hand over Sultan's briefcase. You will then be presented with the following choices:

• "Here": Ensign will find nothing in the briefcase after you give it to him. Thinking you are tricking him, they will start attacking you.
• "I don't think so": Choosing this prompt will make Ensign and his men immediately attack you.

Both choices will have the same outcome. Use the covers around the area to eliminate the enemies. Then, take the briefcase from Ensign's body and return to the Sultansk base camp. Once you report everything to Sultan, he will thank you for your service and grant you 2969 Coupons.
