Stalker 2 walkthrough: How to complete The Road to Salvation side mission

The Road to Salvation side mission can be accessed in the Garbage region in Stalker 2. Its main objective is to locate Star's subordinates at the Factory and report back. Although this side mission coincides with the main mission, Answers Come at A Price, you have to follow a specific procedure to fulfill both objectives.

The Road to Salvation side mission in Stalker 2: Location

You have to complete the Behind Seven Seals main mission to access The Road to Salvation. Following that, you will be tasked to navigate to the Detention Center in the Garbage region. It's part of the main mission named Answers Come at A Price.

During this, you will have to interact with Star, a leader at the Detention Center. He will then reveal that Nestor is hiding in the Factory inside the Garbage region. Furthermore, Star will ask you to look for his men who had visited the Factory to investigate it. With this, you will start The Road to Salvation side mission. Interestingly, Star will also offer you his silenced pistol for free and you can utilize this to stealth kill some of the guards at the Factory.

The Road to Salvation side mission in Stalker 2: Walkthrough

Both The Road to Salvation and Answers Come at A Price missions in Stalker 2 require you to reach the Factory, as they coincide with each other. Therefore, head to the Factory, northwest of the Detention Center. Once you are near the place, take out some of the guards silently.

Head on inside and deal with the guards before walking up the stairs to the second floor. Once you're on the second floor, look for a locked white door. Break the lock and inside the room, you can interact with one of Star's men, Serpentine. After listening to your story, Serpentine will inform you that others are still stuck in the tunnels below. He also asks you to find classified documents down there.

From there, navigate down and take the stairs to the underground laboratory. Then, follow the pathway and type in the passcode 2605 to open the locked door.

Go through the door, down the stairs, and move past the hallway to reach a broken staircase. Once you walk down those stairs, you'll discover that Star's men have passed away. You will also encounter a Bloodsucker and an electric anomaly here, so kill the former and avoid the latter's line of sight to navigate through the area efficiently.

Then, look for a small enclosed room in the corner with a small fire spout on the ground. Here you will obtain the classified documents that Serpentine talked about earlier. With these in your possession, you are required to evacuate the underground laboratory.

Use the damaged stairs to ascend, then enter the passcode 2603 to unlock the door. Proceed forward to watch a cutscene where you can help the "Unknown" person fight against the enemies.

Then, jump down from the location and use the tunnels to escape the Factory in Stalker 2. The next objective is to return to the Detention Center and report to Star. Interact with him to conclude The Road to Salvation side mission.
