Spirit

Just like the real world, Stardew Valley also celebrates Halloween, but in the form of the Spirit’s Eve festival. The Pelican Town is decorated with caged skeletons, spiders, Jack-O-Lanters, and candlelights. Unlike the Luau festival, Spirit’s Eve doesn’t include competition or item-searching. So, you can fully enjoy the festival with other townsfolks and listen to their horror experiences.

The festival features a haunted maze challenge designed by M. Rasmodius that has two different solutions based on the in-game year. Most characters you meet in the maze are either frightened or confused. But, if you navigate it successfully, you will be rewarded with a special universally loved item.

This guide will walk you through the haunted maze challenge and everything else you need to know about the Spirit’s Eve festival in Stardew Valley.

The main highlight of this Halloween event is the haunted maze challenge designed by the Wizard, M. Rasmodius. The maze is fairly simple, but the rewards and layout alternate between even and odd years.

Odd years:

  • Simply follow the path until you reach a signpost with a question mark on it.
  • The question mark will be in a small room that may look like a dead end, but you can walk through the hedge. This will put you outside the maze.
  • From here, go north and enter the tunnel.
  • Go right out of the tunnel till you reach the exit. Upon exiting, you will reach a chest that contains a Golden Pumpkin.

The Golden Pumpkin is a universally loved gift that can be used to raise friendship with any Stardew Valley bachelor you’re looking to romance. Besides the Artifact Troves, completing the maze during Spirit’s Eve is the only other way to obtain a Golden Pumpkin. So make sure you do not miss out on the maze.

Even years:

  • Just like the odd year, you’ve to make your way to the room with a question mark signpost.
  • Walk outside the maze through the hedge in the top right corner.
  • There are three passages to the right of the sign, but only the middle one leads to the treasure room of the maze.
  • Opening the chest will reward you with a Prize Ticket.

The Prize Ticket is a rare item that can only be obtained by participating and completing challenges during festivals. This item can be exchanged for various items in Stardew Valley using the prize machine located in Lewis’ house.
