Steam has just released the Steam Game Recording beta to all users with beta participation access. This newly implemented feature allows you to record your gameplay in the background while playing. Since this feature can be used to capture footage of any title on Steam, CS2 players will have an easier time recording their intense clutch moments.

How to record CS2 gameplay using the Steam Game Recording beta?

Since the Steam Game Recording beta is an in-built feature of Steam, you only have to turn it on to record your gameplay. Here are the steps to turn on this newly introduced feature:
- Launch Steam on your PC.
- Head over to Settings and click on Interface.
- Head to the Client Beta Participation section and select any of the Beta updates available.
- Restart Steam and install the update.
- To turn on this new feature, head to Settings and proceed to Game Recording.
- Select either Record in Background or Record on Demand depending on your preference.
Keep in mind that selecting Record on Demand will require you to press certain keys or buttons to record the gameplay, which is Ctrl+F11 by default. Additionally, you can also tweak the recording quality to capture high-quality videos.

When you have the Record in Background option turned on, it will automatically start recording when you launch CS2. Since the Steam Game Recording beta feature only consumes a small amount of FPS, 6% to be precise, you should keep this setting turned on as you might forget to hit the record button after you clutch.
You can download the videos and upload them anywhere using this feature. Additionally, it can be used to cut out short clips from the entire recordings to share them with your friends or post them online.

Since the Steam Game Recording beta feature automatically fills the video timeline with every one of your kills and deaths, it's quite easy to figure out when you played exceptionally. You can also add various markers on the timeline to mark a certain round where something funny or exciting happened to you or your teammates.
