Available for purchase separately on the Nintendo eShop starting November 28, 2024, fans can play as the vibrant-haired Vocaloid as she collects notes instead of traditional bananas across levels. Godzilla, meanwhile, will instead bust through trains, mowing down anything and everyone in his path.
Those who would rather look forward to the free Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble 2.0 update have much to anticipate as well. For starters, this includes a costume inspired by Saegusa Akina from NIJISANJI. New content will also be added to the two existing modes in the game:
- Adventure Mode:
- The new Banana Bonus allows players to collect bananas to reduce overall time in the Time Attack segments.
- Fans who love a challenge can test their platforming skills with just one life thanks to the No Miss Challenge.
- The Super Speed ruleset makes players' balls move faster, enhancing the challenge who may find the base experience too easy.
- The Monkey See option allows a first-person view of the character inside the ball, offering a fresh perspective and a new way to play.
- The Ultimate EX stages have been updated with new challenging levels for the toughest of customers.
- Battle Mode: The Banana Hunt game receives a new stage. Furthermore, a new multiplayer game called Super Punchy Brawl will be added to the Battle Mode in Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble. In this mode:
- Players must use a big boxing glove and knock opponents off the stage and obtain the most points to win.
- The glove can be enlarged to double its size using panels around the stage which will increase its damage.
- Incoming damage from foes can also be stored to be used as a counterattack.
