Tekken 8’s Heihachi Mishima now has an official release date, and the wait won’t be too long. He comes alongside DLC 3, which features a wealth of quality of life changes, improvements, and of course, a new story to tackle. There is an early access date for those who have the Deluxe Edition Upgrade Pack, and then the full release for all other players, who can then access the King of the Iron Fist, if they wish to do so.

We recently previewed Heihachi Mishima at a recent press event, and are glad his release date isn’t too far away. A more aggressive and powerful Heihachi awaits players who choose to unlock him as a part of the DLC 3 update.

Tekken 8’s Heihachi Mishima unlocks for early access on September 30, 2024, at 4 pm PDT, and the full launch is on October 3, 2024, at 4 pm PDT. Alongside this will be the new Unforgotten Echoes story mode, Heihachi himself, a new stage, and much more. Perhaps the most interesting thing about this update is the Story Mode, though.

Unforgotten Echoes will let players use all three DLC characters, even if they don’t own any of them yet. It’s a great way to try these characters out in challenging battles. If you enjoy them, you can decide if it's worth unlocking characters like Heihachi Mishima, Lidia Sobieska, and Eddy Gordo in Tekken 8.

Heihachi Mishima is a little different than players remember him but in a positive way. He’s a more aggressive character and does have an option to let players hit Electric Wind God Fists without Perfect Inputs - conditionally, of course. Only when in Heat Mode, can players hit his most powerful strikes more easily.

He’s a complex character like he was in previous releases, but satisfying to learn and master. With the addition of stance changes and incredibly crushing combos, casual and veteran players alike will likely find they enjoy playing as the true King of the Iron Fist. However, players still have to wait a week or so until the official launch.
