The CS2 fanbase is all too familiar with how some rare skins dominate the market in terms of price range. The Dragon Lore operator is one prime example of weapons skins that cost hundreds of thousands of Dollars. Reddit user u/Cute_Bunch_716 found a similarly high-valued knife in their inventory and they had no clue what it was worth. When they posted the knife on Reddit, CS2 fans instantly recognized it as the rare Blue Gem Talon Knife.
User u/Background-Raisin708 was clearly awestruck by OP's knife. It was clear to them that the Blue Gem was a tier 1 skin among all the available knife skins.
"That’s a f***ing blue gem."

Clearly, the CS2 community wanted OP to fully understand the worth of their unboxed knife skin. User u/BLT3333333 being the good samaritan, told OP to thoroughly examine the worth of their skin before listing it for sale.
"Yea this is considered a t1 pattern, unfortunately the only sale history I can see is for a ft one, which sold for around $19000-22200. If you do plan on selling I’d recommend checking out other bluegem patterns listed on csfloat, and pricing it accordingly to them. Just keep in mind this pattern may be better than some other t1 patterns, and could potentially sell for a bit more"
In the meantime, user u/arrefinfamos believed that OP was just baiting other Counter-Strike 2 players.
On the other hand user u/SmallDocument835 ensured the owner of the knife that they can easily make $10,000 by selling the tier 1 skin.
"10k quick sell"
Finally, user u/Naebliiss wanted to pay no attention to the knife itself. They seemingly believed that it was valuable and asked OP to make sure their account was safe.
How much does the Blue Gem sell for in the CS2 community?
Every knife skin is different in its way. However, tier 1 skins are incredibly valuable because of their rarity. That being said, the Blue Gem can sell for thousands of dollars. In fact, CS2 skin enthusiast and collector, ohnePixel took to their X page to share the selling price of one of these knives.
The player announced that a Blue Gem knife had just been sold for $8,500 in items, meaning that the knife had been traded for other items worth that specific amount. Furthermore, there are many other isolated instances of the knife selling for higher prices all over the internet. Unfortunately, some of them are difficult to verify.
Regardless, having such a knife in your inventory certainly means you've struck gold, so make sure you keep your account safe and wait for the highest bidder.
