The Finals 3.1.0 update primary targets to balance the light class as it was unfairly buffed at the start of The Finals Season 3. The community has been disappointed at how unfair and annoying the LH1 and Sonar Grenade meta were, and Embark Studios has taken a step forward to make the game enjoyable again.

Here are all the balance changes made in The Finals 3.1.0 update patch notes.

Gadgets

Sonar Grenade

  • The range of detection has been reduced from 15 meters to 12 meters
  • Enemies now have an outline when there is a direct line of sight
  • Health bars are revealed upon detection

Weapons

LH1

  • Damage per shot has been reduced from 52 to 48

Throwing Knives

  • Damage per throw has been reduced from 63 to 60 (Alt fire remains unchanged)

Specialization

Winch Claw

  • Damage reduced from 15 to 5 (This gets rid of one-shot instant kill combos involving the RPG and Sledgehammer against the light)

The Finals 3.1.0 Update Content and Bug Fixes

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a server crash related to certain types of destruction

Unranked Terminal Attack

  • The mode now randomly selects the starting player and objective spawn scenario, proceeding through the sequence of scenarios from that point
Dev note: Terminal Attack previously had the same set sequence of scenarios as Ranked Terminal Attack, but due to it featuring less rounds, you would less often get to see the later combinations of team and objective spawns. By giving it a random starting point in the sequence, you can now experience and practice all of them more regularly.
