To start the Singing Blade quest, talk to Strife and Irelin at Shadows Crossing after Solas’s Ritual. They will direct you to return to the Ritual Site, where Solas previously lost the Lyrium Dagger, to retrieve it before the Evanuris seize it. When you arrive there, you’ll talk to Harding, who’s still wrestling with her involvement in the Solas incident.
You’ll be given three dialogue options here, but selecting “We all carry blame” will gain approval from both Harding and Neve. Feel free to choose a different response if you aren't focusing on a romance with either character, as the other choices won’t affect the outcome.

How to complete the Singing Blade quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard
When you arrive at the ritual grounds, you’ll notice signs of disturbance. After dropping down from the scaffolding on the left, you’ll encounter a Darkspawn ghoul clutching the Lyrium Dagger. It immediately flees seeing you. You will have to follow it into the depths of the ruins to retrieve the dagger.
As you make your way through the ruins, clear the path by destroying a Blight growth blocking your way. Head up the stairs, where you’ll face a larger Darkspawn descending from a crumbled archway. Defeat this enemy, then approach a large metal gate that needs a Beam Generator to unlock.
Getting the Beam Generator
To open the gate, start by breaking the wooden barricade ahead, which reveals a narrow crack in the wall. Squeeze through and loot the ledge on your right. Continue along the broken path until you find the Beam Generator. Once you interact with it, aim the beam at the energy node above the gate to open it.
The Blighted Bridge
Proceed to the next area and collect any scattered loot before moving toward the clearing. A swarm of Darkspawn will attack from Blight pools. After eliminating them, you’ll need to bypass another Blight barrier to move forward. Continue following the ghoul until you reach a bridge blocked by a new Blight puzzle.
To solve it, destroy the exposed Blight node on the left, then cross the bridge. Remove the power crystal from the bridge mechanism, which causes the bridge to retract, revealing another Blight node underneath. Destroying this node weakens the Blight mass in the center, allowing you to clear it completely.
A passage will open, leading to a room containing another elven mechanism. Retrieve the power crystal and insert it into this mechanism to unlock the door to proceed.
The optional puzzle
Just as you’re nearing the dagger, you’ll encounter a locked gate with a chest behind it. An optional puzzle involving two Beam Generators can unlock it.
First, kill the Darkspawn enemies in the area. Next, locate the first Beam Generator above the stairs and aim it at the energy node on the right side of the gate. To find the second generator, break a wooden barricade in a cavity left of the gate.
Squeeze through the crack, climb a nearby ladder, and use the fallen column to jump over to the second generator platform. Aim the beam at the remaining energy node to unlock the gate. Inside the chest, you’ll find a weapon and gold, and you can find additional loot by climbing a nearby ladder.
How to defeat the Lyrium Ghoul in the Singing Blade quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard
Once you are done with the optional beam puzzle, come back to the main path. After traversing a ravine and defeating a few more enemies, you’ll finally corner the ghoul holding the Lyrium Dagger. This initial encounter is easy: dodge and counter its attacks.
The ghoul primarily inflicts necrosis in a cone-shaped red area and lashes out with claw strikes, which can be easily dodged. Once you defeat it, a cutscene will show you briefly reclaiming the dagger, only to reveal that Harding has absorbed some strange powers in the process.
However, the battle isn’t over. More Darkspawn emerges from Blight pools and the ghoul returns with increased aggression and a Blight shield. This time, it will use Blight pools to teleport around the arena, making it tougher to pin down. Follow the same strategy as before, but this time just try to follow its teleporting patterns.
