"These modifications just make NO sense": Bloodhound nerfs shock Apex Legends community, fans react

The Apex Legends community was taken by storm as the mid-season patch for Season 21 addressed numerous Legend balance changes. With Bangalore-Bloodhound being the ongoing meta picks across ALGS and the Ranked ladder, Respawn Entertainment was quick to initiate a wave of updates to promote a healthier meta change.

However, players believe that the mid-season update for Season 21 has entirely negated Bloodhound's presence on the field. Bloodhound mains, such as user @DaRealDangle, have a lot to say:

"These modifications just make NO sense. Each legend has a direct RIVAL/counterpart. Bloodhound wasn’t just able to scan buildings and surroundings, But was also Bangalores direct RIVAL. Now, completely useless against her. No one else can combat a smoke except Seer."

Bloodhound played a crucial role in the ongoing meta, and with Beast of the Hunt, they were the only character that had the ability to see through Bangalore's smokes. Naturally, his pick rate skyrocketed, and overall, we've seen the advent of an extremely aggressive playstyle in the ongoing ALGS Split 2 Playoffs this time around. With the ability to see through smokes removed, players believe that this Legend has simply lost their only purpose on the field.

Some players have sarcastically commented that the latest rendition of the Bloodhound ultimate is not much better than Octane's Tactical ability, Stim. Although players gain access to the monochromatic vision and target highlight, many believe that not being able to see through Caustic Gas or Bangalore Smoke simply makes it redundant.

The majority of players are extremely disappointed with this change. Bloodhound has been in the game since day 1 and has been a popular pick for beginners and veterans alike. The scan and vision through smokes were what set the Legend apart from other Recon-class legends, and with one of his major perks taken away, players are left with nothing but a measly 2.5-second body scan.

The widespread negativity regarding this change does lead to speculation that Respawn Entertainment might fix or possibly alter the Legend after the mid-season update. After a month and a half to assess the stats, players can potentially expect viable changes being implemented to help bring back the Legend to a functioning spot in the meta.

Will the new Bloodhound nerfs make them underpowered in Apex Legends?

To answer it in short, yes, Bloodhound will lose the most useful part of their kit and become one of the most underpowered Legends in their class. With these new changes, we expect Seer to rise back up in the meta. Crypto could also begin dominating in the Recon field.

As for Bloodhound, it is only fair to wait and see how the new nerfs play out in the upcoming Split for Season 21 of Apex Legends. Unfortunately, the new changes will definitely take them out of the meta picks for ALGS, and players can expect some interesting Legend composition changes in the upcoming tournament matches.
