1) Make use of Shadow Realm blessings

The new Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree utilizes a completely different level scaling system, which takes into account your base game stats and allows you to apply a multiplicative factor on it to boost your character. You must collect items spread throughout the Realm of Shadow known as the Scadutree Fragments.

Acquired at the Church of Marika and other locations in the world of darkness. Consume these at places of grace to strengthen your Scadutree Blessing. The Scadutree Blessing increases the bearer's capacity to deal with and mitigate damage but has no effect outside the realm of shadows.

2) Level up discovery and utilize moonlight

Level up your discovery stats so that you can find more items with higher rarities all around the new map that you will explore in Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree. Note that with the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, exploring at nighttime will provide players with certain benefits.

When exploring under moonlight after changing the game to nighttime from a Site of Grace, players will find blow glowing zones around the map. These zones will have items for you to pick up which, with boosted discovery stats, will feature high-rarity items.

3) Activate Mausoleums

Since the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree will have multiple new remembrance bosses, one thing you need to do in the base game is activate all the Mausoleums. These can be used to duplicate remembrances, making them useful against the bosses in the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree.

However, keep in mind that only the Mausoleums with bells underneath them will be able to duplicate the Remembrances of the Shardbearers. Mausoleums without any bells underneath do not have this ability.

4) Do not overlook cookbooks

Among all the items you wish to collect before venturing into the Realm of Shadows in the new Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, make sure you do not overlook collecting Cookbooks.

Cookbooks in Elden Ring will provide you with crafting recipes that can help you out in a snap, and will come in handy in this desolate new Realm of Shadow. Be it recipes to get more item drops or making bosses fall into deep slumber, Cookbooks are essential to min-maxing Elden Ring.

5) Turn on the Mark New Items and Recents tab

Having an inventory full of items will become even harder to manage when the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree starts throwing newer items weapons and gear at you.

To tackle this situation, you can go to the escape menu and under the Display Tab which will be the third tab from the left, you will find the options, "Mark New Items" and "Show Recent Items Tab". These options will help you by marking which items you have acquired most recently, and showing a new tab that exclusively showcases all the recent items you have acquired for you to inspect and take for a spin.
