Now that the Nintendo Switch 2 leak floodgates are open, fans eagerly await Nintendo to finally unveil their next-gen hybrid console. Unfortunately, the company has been turning a deaf ear to all fan pleas and a blind eye to the leaks, instead choosing to bide their time by announcing other unrelated endeavors - which further drives up fans' impatience.

The latest announcement of a LEGO Gameboy project has fans up in arms about how Nintendo is taking its sweet time even though everyone but themselves is leaking details about their upcoming console.

User @Loolo_WRLD captures the universal grumpiness of fans waiting through several years of leaks only for Nintendo to reveal a "fake" console during the peak leak period, saying:

YouTube outlet @GameXplain sarcastically asks if this is the big reveal fans have been eagerly anticipating thus far:

"Is this Switch 2?"

@Elocin_712 could not believe what they were seeing, despite the mounting leaks surrounding the next-gen Nintendo console:

"Announcing a Lego console instead of the Switch 2 is crazy 😂"

Other manufacturers taking it upon themselves to leak new details about Nintendo's upcoming console has become such a trend in recent memory that @Yak_Fi assumed this LEGO leak was just another day in the rumor mill:

"For a second I thought it was another company leaking the switch 2"

@PrideofSpuyten humorously posted a random picture of an old woman in a cage demanding Nintendo showcase the new console or she will not be freed:

"Announce Switch 2 or granny stays in the cage"

Even @ShouldHaveRacc, an account primarily focused on posting cute content of raccoons, was bamboozled by Nintendo's recent decision:

"Yall be doing anything but revealing the switch 2"

The rumors concerning the upcoming console have been circulating the internet for at least a couple of years now, and we have since become aware of nearly everything about the console. This ranges from internal specs, including SOC, CPU, GPU, memory, and so on, to hardware dimensions, design, accessories, and more. As always though, Nintendo dances to their own tunes.

Fans are annoyed at Nintendo announcing LEGO Gameboy instead of debuting the Nintendo Switch 2

The company behind all-time industry hits like Super Mario, Pokemon, and Legend of Zelda recently posted a teaser announcing a collaboration project with LEGO towards a brick-by-brick recreation of their iconic Gameboy handheld coming October 2025. This is not the first time a Nintendo console has made the LEGO transition, as the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System was released a few years ago.

That said, fans worrying about Nintendo taking their time is valid to an extent. We are aware of the publisher's promise of not announcing anything about the system before the end of the fiscal year on March 31, 2025; but as long as the console maker continues keeping this open secret under wraps, the leaks are not going to stop anytime soon.
