"This is too op": Clash of Clans community embraces limited-time M.E.C.H.A. troop

Clash of Clans fans are pleasantly surprised with the addition of the M.E.C.H.A. troop. It is a brand-new unit featured in the new Anime Clash event of August 2024. To unlock it, players need to be at least Town Hall 6 and collect 1500 Magical Crystals. Although beloved, MECHA, along with Broom Witch, is an event-exclusive troop and will be removed from the game once the event expires.

This article highlights the MECHA troop and how the community responded to it.

How the M.E.C.H.A. fits in the Clash of Clans

M.E.C.H.A. is a limited-time troop, which resembles PEKKA in terms of design. While the concept for MECHA and PEKKA is similar, both are automated robots, the units are distinct enough in terms of stats and mechanics.

For instance, PEKKA does a lot more damage but has low movement speed, while MECHA is faster and has more health. Therefore, MECHA is different enough to not replace PEKKA entirely. Additionally, housing space for both troops is very different, PEKKA needs 25, while the MECHA only requires 10.

The new troop is adored by lower Town Hall players because it's fast, does a lot of damage, and quickly demolishes walls. However, at higher Town Halls like 15 and 16, MECHA might face some difficulty in making its mark. Even though it is a viable troop in those levels, the current meta is strongly dominated by Root Riders. Most high-rated players may not want to change their playstyle just to integrate a new, above-average but limited-time troop.

Stats and other details of M.E.C.H.A. in Clash of Clans

A level 1 M.E.C.H.A. has 500 Hit Points and 40 Damage Per Second (DPS). The attack speed of MECHA is 1 second, therefore, its damage per attack is also its DPS. It requires a housing space of 10 and has a movement speed of 26. Additionally, it prioritizes attacking defenses over other buildings and storage.

MECHA is unlocked at 1500 magical crystals. To obtain them, you have to destroy Wizard Towers while attacking enemy villages. Additionally, Broom Witch is unlocked at 3000 Magical Crystal and her favorite target is the Wizard Tower. Due to her niche-preferred target, she is not used much in the meta.
