The Apex Legends Ranked mode was recently replaced with Ranked Rumble for a limited period. During this time, players cannot queue up for the regular ranked matchmaking, leading to a series of discussions within the community. In light of this change, Reddit user u/Corehboii posted on the game's subreddit, voicing their concerns:
“This ranked rumble is so dumb. I was diamond one before the ranked rumble playlist and I didn’t know they were replacing actual ranked. Why did they do this? I’m so upset dude I was 400 points off of Masters and now I don’t have a chance to hit it. I don’t even want the rewards from rumble. Anyone else upset as me or am I just yelling at the clouds?”

This thread quickly gained a lot of attention as other players commented in support of the original post. u/Psychological-One340 cited their dissatisfaction as they were trying to push the account rank at the end of the season, only for the mode to be completely replaced by the Ranked Rumble. This could be a thorn in the player's side as it freezes the progression in ranked mode with no way to gain more points.

Other users pointed out that it did not make sense to completely remove the normal ranked queue for a special mode - even if it includes new rewards. These concerns were shared by many since Rumble demands another stretch of grind to secure the exclusive cosmetics and items.
Reddit user u/aRandomHunter2 provided a logical solution to this and cited that it might be more helpful to ingrain the Ranked Rumble mode at the start of the season. This would help the player base learn the new map while warming up for the upcoming seasonal ranked splits. Since many players try to push their ranks near the end of the season, locking them out completely from the competitive mode can prove to be inconvenient.

The rest of the thread also follows a similar trend as more players chimed in and expressed their concerns. The implementation of the new mode might need to be adjusted to improve the overall gameplay experience for the entire player base.
When does Ranked Rumble end in Apex Legends?
The Ranked Rumble mode replaced the regular ranked queue on August 3, 2024. It is scheduled to end on August 6, 2023, just before the new patch for Season 22 update goes live. The ranked playlist will only contain the new mode and freeze the RP gain for all accounts. This means that players can only participate in the competitive mode with Ranked Rumble.
The devs had previously started a replacement cycle for the Quads and Solos mode while keeping Trios as a constant in the casual playlist. However, the removal of the core ranked matchmaking might not resonate positively with the community, especially due to the seasonal end time.
