Disney have removed two of their most recent mobile games, Tiny Death Star and Star Wars: Assault Team from the iOS app store and Google Play respectively. Both games were launched on November 2013 and March 2014 respectively, and were not even a year older. Neither the game developers nor the fans were informed beforehand about the games removal from stores.
Star Wars: Assault Team was developed by Disney Mobile studio. On the other hand, Tiny Death Star was developed by NimbleBit. The game’s developer, Ian Marsh said that he wasn’t warned of the removal,
"My assumption is they don't feel it is worth it to maintain the game any longer, it was a significant source of revenue for us, so it stings that much more."
If you're on iOS, you can still play both the games from your Purchased tab. But the game won’t get any updates and new users will not be able to download the game.
Sources have informed Pocket Gamer, that both the games were removed permanently to focus on new mobile Star Wars games, Star Wars: Commander and the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Defense.
