PS3 was an immensely successful console of its generation with the system selling about 83.8 million units as in 2018. Even though Sony has stopped producing PS3 now, there are way too many gems and memories that console holds that draws me back every now and then.
Let's just get into the top 10 games on the PS3 that I believe you must play.
#10 Call of Duty Black Ops

Black Ops 1 is undoubtedly the best COD game as far as the single player campaign is concerned. Unfortunately, it was also the last in the series after that the studio just stopped caring about its single-player fans
The game is set in the Cold War era. Much of the Call of Duty: Black Ops campaign is told through the eyes of SOG and CIA operative Alex Mason, primarily through flashbacks. Mason is asked questions by an unknown interrogator about a numbers broadcast which is being used to contact Soviet sleeper cells in the United States. These questions set the stage for the campaign missions.
COD Black Ops has the Metacritic score of 88/100.
#9 Infamous
When every other superhero game failed the last generation, Sony's Sucker Punch Studio took it in their own hands to release a brand new open-world action adventure game where you choose to be either a hero or a villain depending on your decisions over its 20-hour long campaign.
The game follows the story of Cole MacGrath, a bike courier turned superhuman after an explosion that levelled several city blocks and killed thousands of lives. Now living in a world of crime and violence, Cole takes up measures in order to survive while utilizing his new-found powers, while also trying to learn more about how and why he got them.

#8 Dark Souls
From Software's first entry in their dark fantasy action RPG series is the game only meant for strong hardcore gamers with an everlasting will.
Set in a medieval fantasy setting, Dark Souls tells a very vague story yet filled with interesting lore story of an undead in the land where the age of fire has come to an end.
Even though it was Demon Souls that first started this new formula From Software so proudly graced in its next four games and still continues to do so.
It was the first Dark Souls that actually reached a wider audience and made this game so popular as it.
Dark Souls has a Metacritic score of 89/100.

Bioshock Infinite is the most beautiful and innovative FPS I have ever played.
The entire game set in the floating city of Columbia is a sight to behold.
With tight gunplay and interesting new abilities, the game's strong narrative touches themes such as Racism and Christianity, but ultimately is a tale about two people- Booker Dewitt and Elizabeth.

#6 Mass Effect 2
Before Bioware lost all its shame and glory with the latest entry in the Mass Effect series,
There was a game that broke all boundaries in the RPG genre that Bioware had themselves created. Mass Effect 2 is a blockbuster sci-fi tale of Commander Shepard and his crew fighting aliens across the galaxy to save mankind.
The game tells one of the finest stories and features one of the most diversified casts of characters Bioware has ever created.
Mass Effect 2 has a Metacritic score of 94/100.
#5 Batman Arkham City
It was Batman Arkham Origins that broke all the bad luck surrounding AAA superhero games based upon comics back in 2009 which was released to critical acclaim, but when Arkham City released two years later in 2011, it redefined every aspect of its 2009's predecessor to deliver a game that was its best when it came to storytelling, characters and indeed a solid combat.

#4 Grand Theft Auto V
Rockstar games 2013's entry in the long-running crime drama series is a benchmark in the open world genre. I still to date can't believe how the PS3 managed to render the picturesque graphics of the GTA 5's huge open world.
Set in the fictional city of LA, GTA 5 features three main playable characters that can be switched anytime in between when roaming the open world.
This is the best pace Rockstar game ever made and trust me you won't put the controller down until the credits roll after 25 hours or so.
The game has a Metacritic score of 97/100.
#3 Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
My entry point in the series and the Naughty Dog in the general was this game and what a piece of art is.

Its Naughty Dog at its best and is a must play for every PS3 owner.

If you haven't played Rockstar Games 2010's wild west open-world action adventure game then trust me you haven't played anything.

It is a nostalgia ride for the Wild west fans and a complete package of a game which comes with one of the finest protagonist ever in a video game called John Marston.

When PS3's final days were coming, it held its breathe for so long that out came The Last Of Us. The best game this console has off to offer and was finally laid to its rest with dignity and pride.
