Bethesda is gearing up to launch Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on December 9, 2024, on Xbox and PC, with a PS5 release scheduled for 2025. The title, which will be played in the first-person perspective, gives you control of Indiana Jones himself. Owing to Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda's parent company, the title was originally expected to be an Xbox and PC exclusive. Despite that, it is slated to launch next year on Sony's headline console.
This means that PS5 players will have to wait a few months to experience the game. In the meantime, here are five great adventure games similar to the upcoming title that PS5 players can play right now on their consoles.

5 adventure games to play on the PS5 while waiting for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
1) Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
While Nathan Drake's story began in the PS3 era with 2007's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. his character made it to the PS5 with the remastered collection, Legacy of Thieves. Sprawling maps, incredible parkour, and some fantastic visuals are all staples of the Uncharted games.
This two-game collection features 2016's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and 2017's Uncharted: Lost Legacy. While Nathan Drake is the protagonist of Uncharted 4, Lost Legacy's lead is Chloe Frazer. The latter was first seen in 2009's Uncharted 2: Drake's Deception and was a supporting character until Lost Legacy, a game in which Nathan makes no appearances.
On consoles, this collection is playable only on the PS5, being an attempt at remastering both games to bring them up to the visual standards of the new console generation. This remaster was released in 2022 on the PS5 in both physical as well as digital formats. Much like Indy's conquests, the game takes you to various picturesque settings and prioritizes exploration.
2) Tomb Raider Definitive Survivor trilogy
The Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy is a collection of the three most recent games in the franchise: 2013's Tomb Raider, 2016's Rise of the Tomb Raider, and 2018's Shadow of the Tomb Raider. This collection was released on the PlayStation Store digital storefront in March 2021.
Lara Croft's journey has been one of the most popular in all of gaming, as she ventures across some incredibly picturesque locations in search of treasures, much like Indy. As Lara, you can travel through parts of Japan, Siberia, and Peru across all three games.
The collection also includes all the expansions released for the three games. Lara's adventures often have unique and gritty twists and turns mixed with adventure and exploration, which can make for some engaging gameplay.
3) God of War: Ragnarok
The incredibly popular God of War franchise returned in 2022 with God of War Ragnarok, a sequel to the 2018 soft reboot of the franchise. Just like its prequel, the game focuses on the God of War, Kratos, and his son, Atreus, as they travel the mythic Nine Realms of Norse mythology.
Both Kratos and Indiana Jones are incredibly popular characters across various forms of media, and both games will likely share the feature of having puzzle-solving missions.
On this journey, expect to be greeted by many faces familiar from mythology, such as Freya, Thor, Tyr, Baldur, and many more. In addition to this, find available a huge arsenal of weapons that can be wielded while in combat.
There is a DLC termed Valhalla that was made available to all players at no extra cost, which adds to the story and lore of the game. The title also looks rather stunning on the PS5, making it a great option to choose from.
4) Ghost of Tsushima
Jin Sakai's journey began back in 2020 in the PS4 era but received an expanded version termed the "Director's Cut" in July 2021, bringing the game over to the PS5. This expansion included haptic trigger feedback, a bump in resolution to 4K in addition to faster load times.
The game takes place from a third-person perspective and is set during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. Wielding your Katana, help Jin choose his path in defeating enemies in an honorable but challenging manner or a fast and easy but dishonorable manner.
The title takes inspiration from movies by Akira Kurosawa and other media pieces made on the samurai across the years. With a sequel in the works termed Ghost of Yotei slated for a 2025 release as well, it is a great time to play through or replay this iconic story by Sucker Punch.
5) The Last of Us Part 2
Continuing the story of Ellie and Joel in the post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies, The Last of Us 2 received a native port for the PS5 in January 2024, after having debuted on the PS4 in 2020. Like Indiana Jones, the game is reliant on cinematic storytelling elements in the campaign.
The cordyceps-infested creatures that were so prominent in the first game return in this title, with taking them down being as important as ever. Makeshift weapons, incredible stealth mechanics, and gunplay all come together to make this one of the best experiences on the PS5, both in terms of fidelity and gameplay.
On top of this, there is a new character named Abby who can be controlled during certain parts of the story. The sequel to the original Last of Us is a must-try title for PS5 owners.
