Whoever said it, said it correct. The greatest things come in trilogies. There are so many things that are great and happens to be also a trilogy. For example The Godfather series, the Die Hard series or let it be the Lord of the Rings series. Not only in movies, the idea of trilogies have also worked in games. Of all the leading games, most of them are a part of the trilogy series and sequels keep getting better than it’s predecessor. So here we are with the top 8 gaming trilogies of all time.

#8 Prince of Persia series

Released in the year 2004, no one expected the Ubisoft studios to convert the game which we used to play in Windows 98 systems into such a big franchise. The Prince was back and now he was more charming than ever.

The game immdiately rose to fame for it’s fluid combat system and of course the “Wall Running”. The most interesting part of the game were the Sands of Time, which remains the main agenda of the all the three games of the series. For the first time, the protagonist of the game didn’t have a name but just the title “Prince”. The game was praised for it’s puzzling level design and numerous features of the sands of time which were are concluded with a proper story.

Released first in 2006, the Gears of War is a military science fiction third-person shooter video game developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The game was first released exclusively for the Xbox 360 but a year later, a PC compatible version was also released.

The franchise was praised for it’s visual deatiling and strong gameplay which earned the game numerous “Game of the Year” awards. Also, the game ranks 5th most sold game of Xbox 360.

This game is so addictive that even if you’re not a Batman fan, you will fall in love with this game for sure. This game series has everything which you ever dreamt and thought about the legendary Batman and to play as the superhero is a great fun.

The game has set the world record for being the most appriciated superhero game in the history and I’m not exaggerating when I say that the game deserves it. This game actually tops among the charts of survival and adventure genre of the gaming universe. The stays exclusive for the Sony PlayStation, and we are glad it does because if it weren’t then we wouldn’t have seen such beautifully detailed graphics anywhere else.

The game puts you in the shoes of Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter and the adventure that follows him. The game is complemented with its strong gameplay and story narration along with excellent visuals, which are all the things we need in a mind blowing game. But still it is not over. The final part of the game is set to release in mid-2015.

Without any doubt, this is the best trilogy that can ever happen. The Santa Monica studios have achieved something extraordinary after they created the God of War saga. The series tells the tale of Kratos, and everyone who has played the game knows how great the story is.

Apart from just the storyline, the main element that keeps you gripped to the game is the awesome gamplay. With the dual chain swords, killing the enemies is so much fun. And the game also shows how dificult and satisfying it is to kill a Greek god. If you’re one of the persons who haven’t played the game, then dude you are missing something really epic.
