UFL is an upcoming football simulation game solely developed by a European-based studio known as Strikerz Inc. When it comes to football games, FIFA and PES (currently known as eFootball) have been synonymous with the genre for a very long time.
Due to the lack of any considerable competition, EA Sports and Konami have dominated the football gaming scene for years.
A new contender is finally coming into the football gaming space and has showcased some serious progression in its work. Ultimate Football League, or UFL, will be a free-to-play simulator available for Xbox and PlayStation players.

Because of a lack of choices in this genre, users have grown tired of the same old familiar gameplay of FIFA. Many players moving on to PES are not finding the game engaging due to the absence of player and team licenses.
UFL aims to dethrone FIFA and emerge as new go-to football simulator
Strikerz Inc. started the game's initial development in 2016, and it has been solely built using the latest Unreal Engine. According to the developer, the title is in the final stages of its development and will be released in 2022 when ready.
Strikerz Inc. is primarily focused on making the game accessible to all and offers a fair-to-play experience. The developer revealed the main agenda of the game by saying:
"Making it totally accessible, fair-to-play, and a fresh experience in the football gaming space."
In the worldwide gameplay reveal of UFL, the developers shared lots of details regarding the gameplay and showcased some snippets of the actual game. They have used state-of-the-art motion tracking suits to simulate accurate player and ball movements.
Though EA Sports might get the upper hand in terms of pure gameplay given the budget they have, Strikerz Inc has done a great job in creating more realistic goalkeepers and excellent short-passing mechanics.
UFL will offer a global online league with division-based rankings that seems a lot similar to the FIFA Ultimate Team. However, the developer has heavily emphasized their fair matchmaking system, which will pair gamers with similar skill levels and provide a satisfying experience.
Ultimate Football League has partnered with FIFPro and InStat in terms of licenses and claims that players will be able to create football clubs with more than 5000 licensed footballers. However, the absence of kit licenses offers a less authentic experience than FIFA.
Strikerz Inc. has shown confidence in the game and is determined to make a change in the football gaming space. Its CEO, Eugene Nashilov, said:
"With UFL, we're building an ecosystem unique in sports video gaming. We are planning to hold special events featuring our ambassadors and partner clubs — a hybrid of [online] and offline activities".
It will be interesting to see how the UFL stands out against the likes of FIFA and eFootball when it launches later this year.
