Sledgehammer and Activision games has announced recently that an update will soon be coming to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare which will fix some of the issues and bugs players have been facing since the games release this past week. Head of Sledgehammer Games studio Michael Condrey has revealed the details of the update in his recent blogpost.
Since its release, players on Call of Duty have been facing some multiplayer performance issues including multiplayer lag, “service not available” messages and frequent disconnects during matches hampering their gameplay considerably. This update will hopefully fix these connectivity issues and will also include some other bug fixes as well.

- Prestige reset issues, including emblems and challenges.
- Adjustment to the in-game chat names notifications placement.
- Fix for weapon reloads counting as speed reloads in certain circumstances.
- Connectivity optimizations.
- Fix for stats accumulating towards leaderboards after prestiging.
- Adjustment to challenges to unlock Camos for weapons.
- Fix for round-based game modes, affecting Win/Loss ratios.
- Implemented ability to unlock eSports Rule options in Private Match.
The issues seem to be more common on the PC and Playstation 4 versions of the game.
Activision and Sledgehammer Games has also released a statement in regards to the game getting dedicated servers. They have stated that the game “employs game servers hosted at data centers globally on all platforms and listen servers as part of our proprietary matchmaking system“ with their main goal being to ensure that gamers will have a smooth gameplay experience no matter the country they are playing from or the time of day.
