Video: FIFA 18 speed test shows who the fastest player in the game really is

With less than a week left until the highly-anticipated release of the latest edition of FIFA, the hype around the game is more than ever. The ratings of the top 100 players were released by EA a week back, and with pace playing a major role in a player's ability to affect the game, fans were waiting to see just how fast players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Gareth Bale and Hector Bellerin really are.

Although it is evident that Aubameyang is the fastest player in the game with a pace rating of 96, it is not only a player's sprint speed that decides their pace rating but also the acceleration.

FIFA Youtuber ZAN OMG conducted a speed test in which he put together the top 20 fastest players on FIFA 18 in a head to head battle against each other.

The pace test included the likes of Bale, Bellerin, Mohamed Salah, Jordi Alba, Sadio Mane, Leroy Sane and other pace merchants. The test was conducted in sets of 4, with the winner from each set advancing to the finals.

The final four remaining were Aubameyang, Gelson Martins, Bale and Salah. With 96 Pace and 95 Acceleration, there was only going to be one winner - Aubameyang.

The Dortmund speedster, apart from having 96 Pace, has a solid overall card on FIFA 18. The spearhead from Gabon comes in at 88 overall with 84 Shooting, 81 Dribbling, 4-star weak foot and 96 Pace, making him one of the best players to have on the counter-attack.
