Video Game ban ends in China

Video games will now be officially sold in China

After 15 long years the people of China will finally be able to play video games hassle free, after the government lifted its 15 year ban on the practice. Foreign and domestic video game manufacturers will be allowed to market their products once more.

The ridiculously lenghty ban was put in to place due to concerns about the physical and mental wellbeing of children, which could have deteriorated as a result of excessive gaming. China did allow manufacturers to manufacture and distribute consoles in the country, but was limited only to Shanghai.

The ban has hit the sales of Sony and Micosoft and their latest products are yet to hit the heights they hit in the rest of the world in China.

Sony and Microsoft will surely try to capatalise of this development as they stand to gain a large market for their products in the highest populated country in the world. X Box and Sony have both scheduled press conferences at the China Joy expo, where new games will be revealed to the public.
