Blackout is quite similar to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, with the same gritty and bloody Battle Royale action. The difference between Blackout and PUBG is that Blackout has many elements from it's Call of Duty Universe, mainly the Black Ops series. There are many unique weapons, vehicles and drops throughout the game, fashioned to the Call of Duty arsenal of weapons.

With the vast number of Battle Royales to select from, there has been an oversaturation that has also sprung up. But Blackout is interesting because of the whole Call of Duty spin it has to offer. The game is getting regular updates, even in their Zombie Mode.

Unfortunately, the price tag behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has made it hard for players to justify switching the game from Fortnite or PUBG. The people who were most excited for it were mostly hardcore Call of Duty fans. That doesn't mean that there is a lack of players in the game. If you choose to play Blackout, you will find yourself not having that much queue time. The free trial this week can give you an idea of whether it is for you.

Treyarch has also announced an event called 115 Celebration Day, a Call of Duty Zombies event. The event will grant double XP, weapon XP, and Nebulium Plasma to all players.
