Spectre Divide generated significant buzz upon its launch on September 3, 2024. Despite being a low-graphics game, it quickly attracted a large player base. However, shortly after release, players began voicing concerns about its increasingly long queue times.
A recent Reddit post by u/100poibaby showcased a queue timer hitting 14 minutes, prompting a debate among the community. The user wrote:
"I really wanted to give this game a chance."

User u/TurtleBox_Official reported experiencing back-to-back 22-minute wait times while trying to play the game on Steam, ultimately leading them to uninstall it.
"I tried to play the game on stream the other day and got back to back 22 minute que times. It was insane, uninstalled right after."
Others echoed similar frustrations. u/YongWaTV said they waited for 10 minutes only to be matched with cheaters:
"Asia server. Waited 10 mins. Then I got paired up with toxic cheaters. Lmaoo"
However, not everyone shared these sentiments. Some users disputed the claims about long queue times and revealed different experiences.

u/MisterLeat highlighted a bug affecting players in the New York region:
"It was a bug if you are New York where queue went infinite"
Meanwhile, u/Respond_Necessary offered a workaround: restarting the game to reduce queue times. They recounted their own experience of waiting 10 minutes before restarting and finding a match in just two minutes of re-entering the queue:
"There is a known bug with matchmaking. If your queue goes over 8min you should restart the game and re-enter queue. That's what I have been told by mods in the discord. I once queued for 10min, then restarted, and a game popped within 2 minutes after that."
Is the player base of Spectre Divide shrinking?
Yes, the Spectre Divide player base has been shrinking since it launched. Despite the initial surge of around 26,000 players, the game's population has dwindled to about 5,000, according to Steam Charts.
The decline may stem from a lack of fresh content, the title's similarity to other FPS games like Valorant, and various bugs that limit accessibility for players. In response, the developers recently introduced a Ranked mode to attract more players.
