Aside from the new Operations Mission that was already teased in the Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 Roadmap, the devs are adding 4K textures to the game. This will be free for all PC players and will be available via a 4K Texture Pack. For those of you who have powerful rigs, running a Chainsword through Tryanids is going to look incredible.

New customization options like Lenses will also be added to the game. For those of you who are familiar with "The Armouring of a Space Marine Cinematic", you will now be able to give your Primaris Marine red Lenses. Imagine the amazing picture you'll get via Photomode; your Marine with their visor glowing red staring into a Lictor's soulless green eyes. Pure cinematic moment.

There will also be additional quality-of-life improvements added to the game, though there is no mention of what that could be at this moment. More than likely, these will be small fixes to improve the overall gameplay quality (single-player, co-op, and Eternal War).

Coming to the big announcement that we've all been waiting for; New Operations Mission.

Kadaku is doomed

With Titus leaving alongside Lord Calgar, it would seem that Planet Kadaku is doomed. Yes, we might have stopped Tzeentch's plan by defeating Imurah, but we never truly stopped the Tyranid. Despite destroying one of their Hive Ships, Hive Fleet Leviathan is still a threat.

As such, based on the details provided in the blog, the Cadian 8th are in for a fight for their lives on Kadaku. Survival is not guaranteed and the Tyranid may win the planet, but they will make it as painful as possible. Here is an extract from the blog:

"The Tyranid invasion of Kadaku is ending. The planet’s organic material is being transformed into biomass, and Tyranid Capillary Towers stretch high into the skies above, where the Hive Ships wait to taste their victory. The Cadian forces have made a valiant attempt to push back against the Tyranids. A team of Space Marines arrives on Kadaku with a simple mission: help the Cadians destroy the towers. The Tyranids may win the planet, but the Imperium will make it as painful as possible for them."

As mentioned, in this new Operations Mission, you and your squad of Space Marines will assist the Cadian 8th in destroying the Tyranid Capillary Towers. Without access to biomass, the invasion may yet be slowed even further, if not stopped.

To summarize

The next major Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 update will bring quality-of-life changes, a 4K Texture Pack, and more customization options. A new Operations Mission will also be added. You and your Space Marine brothers will assist the Cadian 8th in destroying Tyranid Capillary Towers.
