The latest free Devotion Update introduces the Artifact of Devotion in Risk of Rain 2. This is in addition to other new changes arriving in the popular third-person action game. The new artifact is fairly overpowered on paper, as it allows players to create an army of Lemurian followers that will fight for them. This can be handy as the game is fairly challenging due to its roguelike nature.

Here's everything players need to know about the Artifact of Devotion in Risk of Rain 2, including how it functions and how to obtain it.

How to get the Artifact of Devotion in Risk of Rain 2

To start with the bare basics, Artifacts are game modifiers that alter gameplay in interesting ways. Once acquired, they can be accessed at the start of the next run. These artifacts are accessed by discovered codes engraved on stone tablets tucked away in various randomized levels, so tracking them down can be very challenging.

  • Triangle, Diamond, Triangle
  • Square, Diamond, Square
  • Diamond, Triangle, Diamond

This code can be entered into the Compound Generator in a 3x3 grid. It is located in the Sky Meadows, the game's fifth region. Entering the code will unlock the Artifact Portal leading to Bulwark's Ambry, where players must complete a trial to unlock the Artifact associated with the code. There's more, though: this change affects live drones and turrets. The Lemurian eggs can be given one of the many items (minus Lunar or Corrupt ones) collected to turn them into minions that will fight for the player. This doesn't just allow players to rack up more firepower, but the spawned Lemurians will also gain the effect of the sacrificed items.

Yes, sacrificed as the item given away cannot be retrieved if the Lemurian dies. On the flip side, players will receive scrap associated with that item. Players can also have multiple Lemurian companions; if more than one Lemurian ally exists, they all share the effects of the granted item.

Each minion also possessed the health and damage of an Elite Lemurian, and these will grow stronger after clearing a teleporter event. Furthermore, they can evolve into the following forms: Elite, Elder, and Elite Elder, making them an insane threat on the battlefield if players manage to keep them alive

Risk of Rain 2 is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
