XDefiant’s Season 2 update has introduced a new exciting game mode named Bomb. Those familiar with classic shooters will find it considerably similar to Call of Duty’s Search and Destroy. However, there are a few differences between these two. This article details everything related to XDefiant’s new Bomb game mode.
Bomb: XDefiant's new game mode
In this mode, two teams face off in alternating rounds of attack and defense. The attacking team must plant the bomb in one of two sites and ensure its detonation or eliminate the whole defensive squad.

On the other hand, the defenders must prevent the bomb from being planted or defuse it if that has already happened. Eliminating all attackers also results in a victory for the defending team.
As there are no respawns in this mode, a highly tactical approach is needed.

What makes Bomb different from CoD's Search and Destroy is XDefiant’s unique Faction system. Throughout the match, players will be able to use the powers of their chosen faction, allowing for various offensive and defense strategies.
For example, factions with defensive or area-control abilities may find themselves better suited to holding bomb sites, whereas aggressive factions might excel at breaking through enemy defenses. Strategically using these abilities could lead to creative plays, such as using gadgets to block off entry points or deploying buffs to push an assault.
However, there’s a catch, as when the player’s ultra meter is fully charged, they will be locked into their chosen faction for that particular round. If you attempt to switch factions after the Ultra meter is full, the meter will reset, costing you the chance to unleash your faction's most powerful ability. So, choose factions wisely at the beginning of the round.
Bomb is available in the casual playlists after the Season 2 update, allowing the developers to make changes to the mode later on. This mode is planned to be included in Ranked Play for players who want to test their skills in a more competitive setting.
