Clash (Game Mode)
Clash, the latest game mode introduced with Overwatch 2 Season 12, will see a fair bit of alteration with the latest update.
Numerous players have complained about how matches generally swing in a single direction in Clash. The developers have taken due notice, and in the latest Director's Take blog, Aaron Keller has guaranteed that changes are being made to address and stabilize the gameplay experience with this game mode.
Furthermore, the final capture points of Clash have been strongly criticized for being extremely difficult to capture. The capture point tick rates will be addressed moving forward, allowing attackers to take fights head-on instead of waiting for the last second to unleash all their ultimate abilities.
Clash is a chaotic game mode. A lot happens in this mode, which can be overwhelming for newer players tuning into the game. The developers agree that the fundamentals of playing Clash are quite clear, and they will refrain from making too many changes with the Overwatch 2 Season 12 mid-season update. This will ensure that players better understand how this game mode revolves.

Balance changes
Hero balance is crucial in every OW2 update. Previously, the Tank patch in the 2.11.1 update shot up the survivability of all Tank Heroes in the game. While most flourished with this change, some Heroes, such as D.Va, were extremely overturned. She is perhaps the most meta and broken character in the game currently and will need a nerf to tone her power down.
Game Director Aaron Keller claims that the development team will fix these issues and balance out the entire Hero class with the Overwatch 2 Season 12 mid-season update.
Furthermore, the developers also plan to introduce measures to combat the effectiveness of certain Heroes, such as Sombra. She has been a controversial pick and her kit is also borderline overpowered. Ever since her rework, the Hero has seen a massive increase in her play rate. In the right hands, she can destabilize any team by wrecking their Support Heroes.
We believe that with the Overwatch 2 Season 12 mid-season update, Sombra will also be fine-tuned to be more balanced in the game. Her oppressive abilities made it extremely challenging for Support players to exist and play the game properly. While disruption is the prime goal of any Sombra player, having no counters seems extremely unfair and against the core fundamentals of OW2.
