Competitive Drives in Overwatch 2 explained
Overwatch 2's Competitive Drives are new events coming to the game's competitive playlist with Season 12. These events will take place as the seasons soon comes to an end in the game. Competitive Drives, as per the official patch notes, will exclusively be available for the Competitive Play Role Queue.

As the Drives go live, players who queue up for their games in the Competitive Play Role Queue will earn certain points upon winning their games. These points are called 'Competitive Points'.
Winning games will guarantee that you earn Competitive Points, increasing your overall Drive score. If you lose matches, however, your Competitive Points will decrease, lowering your accumulated Drive Score.
Lastly, the Patch Notes ensure that the amount of Drive Score you have earned will always be more than what you lose after facing a defeat.

Signatures
One of the greatest highlights of Competitive Drives is the brand-new Signature reward in the game. This reward is exclusively available to players who play this specific type of event. As per the official Director's Take, they will frame a player's banner frame and Gamertag in a unique fashion.
There are a total of six rewards that you will collect as you accumulate enough Drive Score in the game. Each of these rewards is locked behind Checkpoints. As you bypass a Checkpoint in the game, you will proceed to earn one of these rewards. Repeat the process five times over, and you will have collected all the offered rewards for Competitive Drives in Overwatch 2.
Here's a list of the collectible rewards promised for this venture:
- 500 Competitive Points
- Signature
- 1000 Competitive Points
- Advanced Signature
- 1500 Competitive Points
- Elite Signature
A player's progression on a Drive is shared across all roles in the Role Queue. You do not earn role-specific progression in this venture. Furthermore, as you earn enough Drives and progress through the Checkpoints, you will earn upgraded variants of your signature in the game.
