Týr is the Aesir God of War, Law, Justice, and Honor. He is also Odin and Hroor's son, as well as Thor's half-brother. The All-Father then departs with the duo surprised and shocked, giving the impression that the actual Tyr is long dead and was most likely assassinated by Odin.
Does Týr die in God of War Ragnarok?
After Odin demonstrates that he was masquerading as Tyr for most of the early stages of the game, it leaves the appearance that the actual Tyr was dead. His true story, however, begins after the battle of Asgard and the end of Ragnarok. After the battle, chunks of Asgard fall all over the realms, including a prison falling in Niflheim near the Raven Tree.
Several entities were imprisoned there, but Tyr is the main focus. Although Kratos can not believe his eyes at first, the Aesir God of War is alive, and he is left to wander the realms alone, contemplating the events that occurred during his captivity.
