ConcernedApe is the only person in charge of Stardew Valley. This lets him put whatever fun little interactions he wants in the game. Be it adding the ability to drink mayo and embarrass yourself in front of Pelican Town or stealing Mayor Lewis’ purple shorts. With the arrival of Stardew Valley 1.6, ConcernedApe has again added a sneaky little interaction that punishes cheaters by beating them up and taking all their money.
The new easter egg punishes players who enter a particular area of the game before they are supposed to. We take a look at this new easter egg in Stardew Valley and the conditions to trigger it.

Normally, reaching the Summit requires achieving a Perfection score of 100 percent. This means players need to complete all of the following tasks:
- Ship each crop and forage item.
- Cook every food recipe in the game.
- Catch all species of fish (including legendary fish).
- Reach Level 10 in all skills.
- Find all Golden Walnuts on Ginger Island.
- Craft every craftable item in the game.
- Complete all monster goals in Adventurer’s Guild.
- Eat all seven Stardrops.
- Reach maximum friendship level with every villager.
- Craft every Obelisk.
- Build a Gold Clock.
The list of tasks is daunting for most players, so many players opt for a much easier route: the out-of-bounds glitch. This lets players walk through walls and access the areas of the map not possible through the normal course of the game.
It can also be abused to access quest-locked areas of the map like accessing Calico Desert before repairing the bus or reaching the Summit before completing the game.
Stardew Valley 1.6 update adds a cutscene that punishes players for cheating
After the 1.6 update, a cutscene will trigger the first time a player uses the glitch to enter the Summit area. The background will glitch and Mr. Qi will appear on the screen and say the following:
"Well, well, well... Look who 'made it' to the summit. Thought you were really clever, didn't you? 'How can I cheat the system for my own benefit?', you thought. Or, in layman's terms: 'Me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me.' Despicable."
Mr. Qi then approaches the player and the screen goes dark. The player will then wake up at Harvey’s Clinic after he has performed some kind of "emergency surgery" for a fee of 500g. The cutscene is a one-time thing and players can again use the glitch to explore the Summit area.
While the cutscene doesn’t specifically state what Mr. Qi did, it’s implied he tried to push the player off the cliff for being sneaky, i.e., abusing the glitch.
There’s no mention of this cutscene in the Stardew Valley 1.6 patch notes, but its existence was soon discovered by players who tried to glitch into the summit after the version update.
