What happens when you ring the bells in Black Myth Wukong?

If you’ve beaten Guangzhi in Black Myth Wukong, you may be wondering whether you should ring the bell in his boss arena. After all, Soulslikes games are known to hide significant secrets behind seemingly normal-looking objects. Thankfully, ringing the bell is safe, and ringing all three hidden bells will reward you with a secret area called the Ancient Guanyin Temple.

Ancient Guanyin Temple is a hidden area where you can fight Elder Jinchi to obtain the Fireproof Mantle Vessel. This guide will provide you with the locations of all three bells in Black Myth Wukong and help you defeat Elder Jinchi to unlock the Fireproof Mantle.

Where to find the three hidden bells in Black Myth Wukong?

The first bell can be accessed right after defeating Guangzhi in the Forest of Wolves. To encounter Guangzhi, teleport to “Outside the Forest” Keeper’s Shrine and follow the path till you find two wolf Yaoguai. From there, take a left and cross the bridge till you encounter three torch-lit pillars.

Enter the gate to initiate the Yoaguai Chieftain Guangzhi boss fight. Defeating him will allow you to interact with the bell at the back of his boss arena.

Second hidden bell location in Black Myth Wukong

To reach the second bell, go to “Snake Trail” Keeper’s Shrine in Bamboo Grove and follow the path till you encounter the Guangmou boss. Defeat him and move forward till you reach an intersection with a wide staircase going forward and a smaller staircase to your right. Climb up the wider staircase and you will eventually find the second bell at the end of the route.

The final bell is located in the Bamboo Grove as well. Locate the “Marsh of White Mist” Keeper’s Shrine and follow the path to reach the Whiteclad Noble boss. This boss has two phases so the encounter is more difficult than the previous ones.

Upon defeating Whiteclad Noble, don’t go inside the building. Instead, head down the path through the water on your left. You will reach an area with some Wolf Yoaguai enemies. Defeat them and go to the end of the path to find the third bell.

What happens after ringing the three bells in Black Myth Wukong?

Once you’ve rung all the bells, a small cutscene will play and you will be transported to the secret area, the Ancient Guanyin Temple. Follow the path and activate the “Grand Chamber” Keeper’s Shrine.

Proceed through the door ahead to encounter Elder Jinchi in a boss fight. The boss battle can be challenging as Jinchi can summon minions and can even heal himself. Focus on keeping a safe distance and taking down his summons before dealing damage to the main boss.

Once you’ve defeated Elder Jinchi, you will be teleported back to the third bell where you can interact with the dead wolf Yoaguai to obtain Fireproof Mantle. This item increases your fire resistance when equipped. You can also activate it by consuming Qi to receive complete immunity from fire damage.
